Fox Hollow
About
Sometimes, the ambiguity of a man is better left ambiguous.
Nick and Jenna Dowling buy a second home in Upstate New York but this dream of a lifetime turns out to be anything but relaxing when a strange and mystical experience on a dark, forgotten back road leads Nick on a frantic search for answers about the reality of his identity. Frantic to explain his mysterious amnesia, Jenna Dowling calls upon a therapist for her husband, while Nick befriends an alien abduction expert. Each desperately searches for the truth, but in the end, it is not the truth that sets them free.
Praise for this book
Usually science fiction isn’t my go to genre but this book captured my attention from start to finish! It was more than I could have asked for in a science fiction. In the beginning, Nick Dowling’s memory seems to be completely gone as he wakes up in a hotel room in the city of Chelsea 1982. He checks out of the hotel, only knowing the name the reception said he wrote down for them while checking in. As he is leaving the hotel he realizes he starts his life all over again, from a blank slate in his mind. Meeting his soon to be wife , Jenna shortly after. Nick and Jenna decided to get a house that they think is going to be perfect for weekend getaways for them, but faster than they see it coming their lives turn into something that is far from relaxing. As Nick starts getting his memory back will the truth be uncovered of what happened to him for before 1982 and set him free or will nobody believe him? Will his marriage be able to suffice if they don’t know who the real Nick is, even Nick himself. Aliens couldn’t have taken his memory right? Jenna who has it psychology PhD certainly doesn’t believe aliens could be the cause of her husbands memory loss. Of course it has to be something logical. Dive into this twisty turny book and see if you can uncover the truth first!! Can’t wait to dive into book #2 Pharaohs star coming out in September!
Pharaoh's Star by Olivia Hardy Ray is an intriguing fast-paced suspenseful read & I don’t think I’ve read anything like this before.
The book begins with an amazing description of the surroundings & the atmosphere including the little details in which Nick was driving. I just loved the way the author explained every little detail of the sky that night. Nick and Jenna Dowling purchase a second home in Upstate New York but an unusual and mysterious experience on a dark night changes everything.
There were endless inquiries that will make you continue reading. Who is this man? Is it true that he is Nick Dowling? It is safe to say that he is Robbie Nichols? Is it true that he is Sanford Hinkley? It is safe to say that he is another person altogether? Imagine how the partner will handle the situation when suddenly just after buying a home at a dream location alters the existing beautiful reality.
It is a spine chiller completely but also the story is extremely intimate. Nick is battling to discover his Identity since he doesn't recollect anything about his youth, and is beginning to accept that he may have been snatched by outsiders and investigated. Jenna, his better half, is a psychologist and extremely grounded in reality. She needs to manage the way that her significant other might be having a total breakdown, while simultaneously contemplating whether she even knows him by any means.
I wanted the answers so I failed to put down the novel and if you want the answers too. Grab a copy now!
