About
Some secrets draw people closer... after they tear them apart.
A dangerous group of high-end thieves have been told that the legendary Eagle Diamond is hidden in a clock. The Diamond was stolen in the 1960s from the Museum of Natural History and was the only valuable never recovered.
But the presence of criminals in the picturesque town of Callicoon will reveal more than the Eagle Diamond.
Deeply buried secrets surface to expose unsettling truths as the Diamond waits in a grandfather clock rigged to blow.
In the end, just who gets what?
Praise for this book
There was a lot going on in this book. There are 3 different main characters who each have their own backstory and issues. I think that the author does a great job of balancing those characters and their individual journeys.
It’s an up and down roller-coaster of a story when you are going back and forth, but in a good way. It keeps you flipping pages as you are trying to keep up.
I was pleasantly surprised by how invested I became in the mystery and plot and how quickly I was invested as well.
Great piece of writing.
Kudos to Vera Jane Cook, I wasn’t able to figure out the mystery before the end!
This book completely captivated me. I was in it from the beginning and hanging on every word along the way.
Such a great cast of characters with a wide range of personalities that made reading about them fun.
The book’s well-written with well-rounded characters, the story is quite intriguing and unique.
